On the first Monday of March we want to take a moment to reflect on the Magic and power that is within each of us as black women. March is women's history month and we want to make sure that we celebrate all of the amazing things that women all around the world have achieved! We are so proud of all of the advancements, inventions and change that takes place globally by the hands of women. We also want to reflect on what that means specifically for us as black women, living in Phoenix.
With the arrival of the 3rd month of the new year, March is nature's symbol to living beings that the new season of spring has arrived. The weather noticeably begins to change, the temperature rises, the sun stays in the sky a little bit longer and flowers begin to bloom. When we reflect on the different seasons we have experienced in our lives over time, it is helpful to see each of them as an opportunity of growth and learning.
As we celebrate our black womanhood and the coming of spring, we want to share with you 8 guiding points to create your #DreamSquad! Supporting and celebrating one another will be at the forefront of our calls to action this month. We will share 2 points with you each Monday this month, and close with a motivational charge to push you on through to April!
Guiding Point #1 is : Harness the Power of your Intuition.
Be aware of what your spirit is telling you. When we think about our growth over the past few seasons in our lives, we must employ the wisdom that we have gained over time. Cultivate your intuition and strengthen your awareness of self. People come and people go, and just as the world rotates from the west towards the east on an axis for 365 days, you are sure to lose people and you are bound to gain them. The growth we experience as a result of each exchange helps to develop our intuition more thoroughly. Be sure not to hold on to anyone longer than necessary but also be mindful of not letting go of people so effortlessly or without just cause. Be introspective and love yourself, your intuition is a gift!
Guiding Point #2 is :
Dare to be generous. Let your presence in the life of other women be a gift to them, but most importantly be a gift to yourself. Be reminded that is impossible to pour from an empty cup! That is a reoccurring statement that you will hear regularly from me because we all must understand the foundation of the statement in order to recognize the truth of it. In your quest to be generous, devote yourself to finding and freeing the light in other black women. When you courageously shine and serve other women un begrudgingly. When you make it your nature to sow in to the purpose of other women without fear of competition and when you begin to unlearn the thought that there is only room at the top for one of us. You consciously and intentionally give other black women the authority to mirror your light. By being exposed to your very presence, you will have encouraged them to shine brighter than they have ever shined before, and in return your light will increase as well!
Look out for our future guiding points for the month! We hope that this month is filled with women loving on women, especially black women loving on black women. Let us be passionate in our support of one another and reaffirmed in our own brilliance. When we begin to know and accept our worth from the inside out... our Magic truly has the opportunity to be seen!
